Trisha’s Dishes

I'm so excited about this section of our website. If you've read our
book, you know that collecting, cooking, and sharing recipes is
one of my great passions. If you share my passion for cooking and great food, please visit me on this site for sample recipes which I will update from time to time. If you like these samples, I'm hoping you will sign up to get frequent updates of Trisha's Dishes automatically in your email.

As we discuss in our book, The Best of Our Lives, an important part of achieving mental and physical health throughout our retirement years is by reducing stress and maintaining a positive attitude. For me, cooking delicious food and trying new recipes has always been a fun way for me to handle stress. I put on some of my favorite music, tie up my apron, and the kitchen is my playground.

My recipes are my own creations or modifications of ones I have collected over the years. Other recipes have been shared by family members, friends, and coworkers. Every one of Trisha's Dishes is one I have personally prepared, served, and recommend.

In our book, The Best of Our Lives, we advise seniors to monitor their eating habits very carefully in order to maintain optimum health. For that reason, I always look for methods and ingredients that will make each recipe more healthful and I share those ideas with you. The fact is, there are those occasions when a special dish or dessert will not be the most healthful. In those cases I suggest moderation, or what John and I refer to as "portion control."
